With abundant powder snow, breath-taking scenery and world-class facilities, Rusutsu is a heaven for powder lovers, receiving over 13 meters of snow per year and one of the snowiest resorts globally. With a large area to explore and no over-crowding, there are plenty of fresh tracks to ski all day long; the perfect place for a hassle free ski-in ski-out holiday.
The second largest Ski Resort in Hokkaido, Rusutsu has 3 main mountains (East, West and Mt. Isola) which offer some of Japan’s best back country and tree runs. Accessibility is fantastic, with skiers able to ski straight into untracked powder and tree runs and then back onto the lifts again. There are also 37 different perfectly groomed trails, many of which are wide and perfect for beginners, or for warming up before venturing into the deep snow. You can also get more out of your day with the fantastic night skiing options, with a large area open until 8:45pm.
The resort is purpose built to make life easier, with beginner slopes conveniently located right next to the hotel and untracked powder easily accessible. On top of the untouched powder, the resort has two terrain parks; Side Country and Freedom. Side Country Park offers powder lovers a park with jumps, drops and log rides, while Freedom Park provides a space to practice those freestyle skills. The resort also has a team of friendly international instructors who ensure you have fun and improve your skills.
The resort is set with a modern lift system, capable of carrying over 30,000 people and will keep you warm and dry with its covered chair-lift, ensuring you spend your day enjoying the snow with minimal waiting time. Furthermore the new electronic lift tickets allows for quicker hands-free access with no need for repeat displaying of passes, making it easier to enjoy the mountain (Remember to keep your ticket safe inside your jacket!).
